Hey guys and gals

How are we all? I am faced with a problem (well its not really a problem haha)

I have stumbled across an all matching Numbers Antelope LX SS 6cyl hatch. The body itself is in a unique condition. It has no major rust at all in the car. The C Pillars had the odd bubble start, but where treated with rust converter about 10years ago, so the metal is all still very strong etc. But the body itself is a bit sad. The passenger side has a big dent down the side. i would prob need a replacement door and some serious panel beating just behind the door. Other than that the car has just got door and shopping trolley dents all along it.

The interior is ok, it is all the orginal stuff, the driver seat is stuffed, but all the others are in ok condition. Of course the carpet is shagged but thats nothing. The dash is all perfect (except for the ss ashtray, is had a chunk missing :() The console is complete and all there, just needs a new armrest.

The car has the factory air-con, which means the dash has the different controls etc for the 4speed fan.

The engine is a mildy worked 202, with a yella terra head, Wade Cam HD Lifters, 186s manifold with a twin weber on it, also has electronic ignition.

Now for the stuff that really makes me want this car.

He has bought every single type of nolathane bush you can buy for the car. they have not been fitted yet and still in the packaging.

He has a set of Brand new KYB Monotube Shocks for it

New balljoints and all that jazz to make the front end new

He has some Girlock calipers etc for the forn brakes

Some Widened Steel wheels with near new tyres 14x7 and 14x8 rims with 225 tyres

Some brand new never fitted OBX Carrera Racing seats (grey and black very nice!)

He has a set of Orignal SS Steel wheels with SS Hubcaps

All the owner manuals and a LH Service manual in new condition

and now this is wat gets me drooling

A Hatch hutch that is in As new condition, i mean this thing looks like it was made last week, IMHO it would be one of the best in Australia

So yeah, my problem is i am 20, i already have two cars on the road and i want to spend money on my hatch i already have, and i dont want to sell either of my cars.

Do you guys think its worth me getting a loan to buy this car? I know that its an SS and i will probably never be able to come across an SS at this sought of price again with all this awesome stuff.

maybe these pics will help too, these are just of the car.

i wasnt able to get pics of all the parts...

Going on this wat sought of price do you think would be fair to pay for the car?

Give me some ideas guys! :spoton:

If you have somewhere to store it I would use the BUY IT NOW feature

When you do have abit more available cash in a few years these cars will be gone
Do it now while you still can

You have to live life by this motto Matt. *You Snooze You Loose*
As Datto said in time when you think you have the money you won't find one and it will cost a lot more than.
You could always sell the Q and get this one on the road as quick as for the daily driver

:D hehehehe

i know its an absolute ripper deal, and i cant wait to get started. i just dropped a deposit off to the guy. He is a really top bloke as well, he even offered a payment plan so i dont have to get a loan from the bank. But ill pay him off what i can before the bug hits that i want the car at my house, then i will just get a loan for the remaining money!

anyway i cant wait to start work on it!

Mate thats an awesome buy, a guy round the corner from me recently sold a factory 6 SS, papaya in colour, he had the paint touched up in various areas, fitted flares, 14/8 hotwires, a 308 and 4 spd and sold it on ebay for 18k+.....so theres plenty of value in 6cyl SS's. Well Done!!!!
Ohh must be the week for cheap toranas I got a L32 SS this week too, about the same price as yours

awesome stuff MRNOS!

im not sure what road ill go yet with this one, whether to keep it orginal etc or maybe make it a bit more me.... either way ill probably leave the six in it, as i think its a pretty strong motor, and i have my other car which has the hp and V8!

Its true tho with this SS all it really needs is the body work done and fit all the parts that came with it and it will be a very nice car (and the value will probably triple!)

yeah haha....

I saw a car in a carpark with a note on its window that said LX SS for sale. Suits Restoration.

I tracked down the owner and asked him about it. Next day i checked it out. Then went and put a deposit on it! haha

Very nice Matty! Looks like a good investment. I'm looking forward to seeing it once you do get it home.

As for which way you go with it - I reckon that all depends on if you do end up keeping your current hatch. If you do, then build the SS stockish... so you have a classic example and a hotted up modified thumping V8... But if you sold your current hatch, then I reckon you'd get bored not having your big V8 anymore! Keep us updated anyway!

looks like a great project, well done. Stick with original and first thing i'd do is get the trim while you still can.

V nice Matt!

IMHO keep it original, they are sooooo hard to find in that
unmolested condition. As RED' mentioned, grab an interior
to match the plates as soon as you can.

I really believe that these will go up in value big time as there
are so few that have not been swapped for V8s. You know the
speal - "original SS hatchback, started as a 6 cyl....." LOL

Grab a sunbudgie and do it up if you want to do a monster
like that yellow one!

Hmmm, come to think of it, I would be happy to do a swap with you!!

Cheers, Leakey :D :D

Yeah red i really like your idea of sourcing the interior now while i still can. i could even tuck it away somewhere that will be safe. Run the interior i want to run, then if i ever want to sell it i just put it all in and the car is worth a shitload more!

It doesnt have the original engine in it anymore. Its got a warm 202 in it now.

I am more and more liking the idea of doing it up as original. Then maybe chucking a hot motor in it so its a fun ride. But keeping all the orginal stuff, so if i ever had to sell it the value would be so much more..

Cheers guys! Im loving the ideas!
