Hi Guys, it has been a while since I have written, so here goes:

- The underbody is done (bare metaled and 2 pac'd in jet black).
- Stone guarded under arches and sides of chassis (after it was bare metaled).
- Stone guarded areas have been etched and 2 pac'd over.
- Steering has been mounted up and realocated.
- Front end has been bare metaled, 2 pac'd and assembled.
- Suspension is now all air bags (each corner).
- Rear diff has been installed.
- New rivets have been rivetted on the panels for chrome strips.
- 383 four bolt has been mock fitted with transmission.
- Chassis kit has been installed and sprayed in 2 pac.

Now I'm waiting for my painter to get his place ready, so I can drop it off.
Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Wow, never seen airbags on an LC/J before! Top work. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost for the paint - underside/stoneguarding?

Well I did it my self so it was pretty cheap, stoneguarding, the 2 pac and the etch came to $96.00 It was well worth thew prep time. I had to not only cut out the tunnel and replace it, but someone welded in a floor panel for the drivers side over the rusty one, so I had to cut and weld that all good, as well as fix the bent chassis and all the other dents, all up it took 15 hours to fix and finish the underneath, but anyone elses would prob take half that time. Goodluck with doing it. The end result is really worth it. :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton: :spoton:

Did you get it sand blasted? You obviously needed a rotisserie? Spraygun..Anyone know if you can brush POR 15?

Man yur car is coming along nicely. Does having airbags have any pros over a good coilover/spring/shock set up? Or is it sorta just for show and comfortable straight line work.
Thanks for the replies =D :spoton:

hi jbird, the bags are only going to be for cruising and shows as it isn't for handling, so I'll be selling it as a complete unit after its been to all of the shows. A gun is needed. I didn't use a rotisserie. I made a frame, which is for sale, it cost me $500.00 to make and has a jockey wheel on each corner. It bolts to the chassis and gave me plenty of room. My friend is using it at the moment on his 308 ra28 celica project. Take care, Adam.

Gday JBird...
Just to answer your question about POR15 , you can paint it .I have used it on my boat trailer and it doesnt come off the brush too bad. It self levels itself to the surface. Not as good a finish as off the gun but not too bad.Good Stuff though but not cheap !!
Cheers Obey 1

Thanks so much for the comments guys, really makes me want to work three jobs to get the car done and take yas all for a spin. Next thing is alligning the doors, then sneding it to paint. It will be painted Jetblack 2pac (the same as the underneath), it will have silver gtr stripes, along the bonnet and boot, and possibly side, but will have to see if it clashes with the stainless steel trim around the doors, etc.

Dropping off about another $1500.00 worth of chroming on friday, and am getting aussie dessert coolers to hook me up with a polished alloy radiator. That will take care of my money for the next couple of months, whilst the cars getting painted. Meanwhile I'll be building a 327 chev up for my dads mate to go in his hk monaro, can't wait.

Thanks again for the kind words guys, really means a lot, take care,

Adam :spoton:

Torrietree they handle like crap!, hopefully a bit better when the motor and trim are in on the final fitment, but from what I've been told it handles not too great. When I get serious (after the motor is run in), I will prob take them out and run coil ovbers, then possibly tub the rear, but don't thuink I will, genuine GTR, at least I can rip the v8 out and put a six back in and nothing is different. But yeah its a honeydoodle. :spoton:

Does it require structural to fit airbags?

Yes it does, but if you do it right you can adapt them so that they can be unbolted and the other springs can be put back in their place. Thats what I have done. Take care, Adam.

Hi guys, the car is getting picked up for paint in two weeks finally. I have been stuffed around, and am now getting four professionals working on it after hours. It will either be black with silver stripes or silver with black stripes to match the interior.

Just bought a new jetski while I was waiting as I'm bored at the moment and needed something to keep me entertained, fair few stacks and am very sore, ahhhhhhh! Hope all you guys and girls are going well with your projects, take care,

Adam. :spoton:

Gday,

First up f'kn nice! and Keep going!

Its good to see someone putting 'bags under their torrie, it was something I was highly contemplating, but since I am quite keen on the drag strip (hence the handling) I have decided to stick with shocks on my project :) Besides, I was told by a few ppl that if I used bags, when the car bogs down hard as it takes off - there would be a good chance that I would damage them and maybe even pop them..

Anyway, I'd love to see whats happening next.. Keep it commin and keep us posted

No worries guys, I will definately keep you posted when its getting through its stages of paint!

The bags take 700kg each so thats nearly 3 ton worth of weight, meaning they wont pop at all. Take care, Adam.

Bodywork has almost been done and is looking sweet! Going to try and get the time to go down there and get some pictures but its an hour from my place, and with uni its hard. I've also bought a hb torie, I think this one will be my burnout car, planning on dropping a 327 or 350 chev in it, what you guys think? :spoton:

Take care,

Adam.

Well it has been awhile since I have worked on the gtr, but I am finally getting it back from the paint shop (after 14 months). I have to decide on which billet wheels I want. Here's some pics of the car in the body shop today

I will get the car back in three weeks. Slowly put it together throughout the year. Wondering what type of block to start the motor build with? I was thinking LS series.
