In recent years car clubs have displayed their cars along the main straight north
of the Dunlop footbridge. There is always a gathering of Toranas - XU-1s mainly-
about 150 meters south of the footbridge near the Wurth marquee - Its not a
Torana club as such - more a gathering of Toranaphiles who are into historic racing.
I am sure you would be welcomed by them - plenty of adjacent parking space and
a fantastic array of collectable vehicles all about to drool over.
Its a terrific event for the racing and the spectator cars.
Cheers

How do I get from the pits to where the Toranas will be displayed? I only know the pits there, so I need directions! Also, what time is the BBQ?

Here are some pics from the weekend, they arent as clear as they could be, my camera is still playing up..

I've got some more, but they are worse, if I can get them looking any better, I'll post them up...
All things going well, I'll be heading down with my torana and some other IPRASA guys, and maybe lxchev366 for the Island Magic meeting in November... should be wicked!
cheers,
Sam

The Bob Jane XU-1 rebuild has started, hoping to get it read for Tassie end of next month, Anna who was driving is OK, but sore, The Walky had a gearbox problem at the start, hence why he was sitting there.
Great day though!
Glad to hear Anna is on the mend, I'm sure it would've hurt, was a nasty impact.... :(
Stubber was pretty impressive in that Harvey A9X - sideways around most corners... Certainly is a switched on steerer....
Dropped past to see yellowa9xhatch, but the guys looked kinda busy so I decided not to bother them... Very nice car, sounds sweet on the track!
I think Robert Braune won the last NC race of the day on sunday, and a Mustang won the last Group C/A race, not too sure what happened to Stubber - I think he DNF'd

I have been plenty of time before and had my Torana on the track a few times (the one hot lap with all the classics).
It's always a good time down there.

Sad about the Bob Jane XU-1 - hope both car & steerer are on the mend.
Amazing the size of the fields - Nc ( replicars ) obviously not declining in popularity when you see who has opted out of the Biante scheme.
My heroes of the weekend - Andrew Robson Lola F5000 ( magic )
- F**d Custa steerer From Sunshine land !!!
- HQ308 - # 8 - a great entertainer & gardener
LH350 (Sam) I have some reasonable pics. which I will email to you tonight if
you care to post them on here.
Cheers JR.

Yeah I agree, awesome weekend, the guy in that customline had a big lose on the approach to lukey.... straight into the gravel, kept the boot in, went around the edge and back onto the track... He was loving it, I could see the grin through the helmet......haha
The 308 HQ was a quiet achiever... look like a well sorted package on the track.
Here are your pics as requested!

cheers,
Sam
