hey guys i though id post up some pictures of my project ill be hopefully starting in the next 6 months or so. shes an original LH sl/r with 47000 km which was my dads and is now mine. the story behind it is dad bought it as a write off and was originally chrome yellow. and dad beat her out himself and resprayed it salamanca red. it originally had a 202 in her and trimatic but dad wanted a bit more power so he got a 308 which he sent up to mal-kim baker up in sydney to be bored out and blueprinted. he ported the heads out himself he decked a set of chev piston to fit in and narrowed down chev conronds to fit the crank. he made the inlet manifold for the four 45mm webers and all the accelerator linkages and a friend of his welded them up for him. it has a fairly lumpy crane cam (grind number cc-300) and crane rockers and chromemoly retainers and solid lifers. genie extractors. a muncie 4spd with the tallest 1st he could get sorry dont know the number and it has the tallest diff ratio he could get (dont know what ratio it is he could tell me) she ust to put out 256hp at the treads at 4000rpm and the cam dosnt even come on till 4200 and do about 70-75 mile in first if she was reved out. so thats my project some pictures below of what i have to start with.

Great car northy :spoton:

I really like it and judging by the old registration label it hasn't been on the road for a long, long time.

Hopefully Dad is still around to give you a hand. Great father and son project.

Regards Mick.

thanks allot. yeah dad had to put the torsion bar there coz the webers got mighty close to the brakes booster. the interior only has a few problems it got some rat in it when it was kept at a friends place that has horses and theychewed out everything the the bottom of the back seat and had a go at the seatbelts so well need new seat belts and the rear seat will have to be fixed and probly new carpets but it all should be good.

I think Peter UC will do the same :tease:

The moment I read your post in the other thread about this car, my mind started racing. You're put my brain at rest, it's beautiful. Absolutely fantastic project

What are the plans? Hope you're leaving it unflared (makes it look like a sleeper even with the paint), and that manifold is quite something. The motor sounds like a pretty serious performer as well.

I'll be keeping an eye on your project. Where are you from btw?

why thankyou very much. the plans 4 her are simmons fr17s no flares a drop tank redo all the brakes maybe new diff. a scoop maybe. were hoping for about 350-400 at the treads. keep the interior fairly stock just nice and clean. some speakers and headunit just quality sound

*Tries to think what 6cyl SL/R's paint looks like*

Shame Pat's not around anymore to defend Chrome Yellow. It's a bloody nice colour. I reckon keep it as it is now, it's unique!
