Not sure if it has already been discussed on here ( it's been a while sine I've been in for a look)..
But there is a new race series starting up called the "HDT CUP", first round is August 14 & 15 at Oran Park in Sydney.
Originally it was only going to be for VB to VL Commodores but has been opened up to include a late model/post 1988 class as well.
Yesterday i was informed that they will also be opening the category up to Toranas as well.

The category will be run as a part of the iRace series, and initially (until sufficient numbers are available to fill a grid) the category will be run in conjunction with the "Muscle Category".
If you're interested in competing or just having a look check out the iRace website for details.
You can also check out the iRace events on Speedweek (SBS) and FOX sports' "Inside speed", check the iRace web site for details.

As of yesterday morning... 14 entries for the HDT cup. With still a few days left for entries to come in.

These events are FREE to come and watch, so dust off all your HDT gear and head on out for a great day of motorsport.

I went out there on the weekend to see my mate race his Radical in the Formula Tasman series and watched the first two races of the HDT Cup.

Its obviously very early on for all the guys but there were definitely some competitive looking and sounding cars.

They all appeared to have a red hot go with minimal incident but the field ended up widely spread so the racing wasn't that close. Certainly a great idea with a promising future.

There was a VN (VP?) that sounded very strong, as did the white VK. Both cars were at the front of the field.

Will be good to see it on T.V this week.

There was a White VK there, but was the other quick car you spoke of a Vk or could it have been a VH???? Maybe this one, it's a bit of a weapon and was up the pointy end.

Yes, those are the two cars.

Your VN sure sounded good Posted Image Posted Image

It was a perfect day out there, not a cloud in the sky and very mild.

Congrats, you finished up the front of the field from memory?

I ended up having a spin on the last lap of the feature race (missed a gear coming into the hairpin just under the bridge and dropped a couple of places) was running in either 5th or 6th before that, but dropped back to 9th.

Ended up with a points win for the round in the "Class A Modern" category. (Was a bit of a Steven Bradury, last man standing) but I'll take the points.

I was pretty happy with the way it went, considering that the suspension is pretty well much stock apart from a set of Lowered king springs. I have A complete new set up waiting to go in, but all the bits didn't turn up in time to get installed and tested before the weekend so I opted to leave it the way it was and go out on a familiar set up (....better the devil you know) :<_<:
