Harry Firth designed the Monaro ??
Peter Brock won the 1986 Bathurst 1000 ?? in a GTR-XU1.

Page 3, "Australia's own car rolled off the assembly line in 1952"
I suppose it did, but it also rolled off the assembly line between 1948 and 1951 before that. The report remains an interesting read in any event.
