Are the hubs (centre bosses) the same size on six cyl and V8? The bolt pattern? ie Will the water pump pulleys interchange? I believe later XU1's might be the same, but don't know about the rest and don't have one here to check.

Cheers.

Two different bolt spacings for six cylinder. Pre HR have a smaller spacing but also a shorter snout so may not help you, but bear in mind belt offset also needs to be considered. V8 I don’t know. It’s a Dr Terry question.

Yes I've taken a plastic Nissan fan from a 6 and put it on a 253.The later type of water pump..

Edit.

Ah ok, I answered too quickly. I can easily check too.

Yep. Fan extension from V8 water pump fits straight on to later style 6 water pump.

Yes Laurie. I thought you were looking at using v8 pulley on a six. Probably the offsets are the same, probably.......

Sorry Clay, I didn't make myself clear.  I was actually wondering if you could run the V8 fan on a six cyl water pump and vise versa.

The spacers are interchangeable so as long as the fan clears it would be too.
