Has anybody used these rack ends on their LC-LJ steering rack?

Do these rack ends really wear out or do they just need a tighten up?

Yes, the original rack ends can be adjusted. The GMH LC Torana workshop manual outlines the procedure.

From memory, using a spring gauge, the rods should require a load of 25lbs (need to look in the shop manual to confirm lbs) to get them to move and they should move smoothly throughout their arc of travel.

If they do not move smoothly when correctly adjusted then the ball end on the rod & or the seat are worn and need replacement.
