Can’t work out how to post pictures. So this will be a verbal step by step. Slave cylinder with M20 and red bell housing worked out for me at 5.2mm with 3 Mal wood sleaves and 3.8mm with 4 sleaves. Recommended spacing is 4-5mm so starting with 3 spacers.

I was hoping to leave bellhousing in place and only remove GB but this is not possible as top bolt on MW slave cylinder pettrudes. So bellhousing must come off.

To the Holley sniper it is a good fit to the 186s manifold as mentioned elsewhere on this forum. the sniper o2 sensor mount fits fine to my 2.25” exhaust just behind the extractors collector. Recommend the carb to manifold stud kit from rare spares SD1103

Sniper 2 TBI carb uses AN6 fittings vs the sniper returnless fuel pump which is 1/4” NPT thread so you need to work all that out. Then the recommendation is 3/8” fuel line so you need to decide whether you will upgrade, which I will.

I am not privileged to have a lift and too old to hold 40kg gearbox above my head, so next step is to construct a dolly so I can reinstall the gearbox. Then I can proceed with GB reinstall and pedal assembly.

If you reply to a post , click on the blue box on the bottom right, more reply options.
that will bring you to an option to upload photos on the LHS. If uploading off an iPhone/ipad make sure you reduce the file size.
then put your cursor in your text where you want the photo to appear, and select the use image button ( or. It’s something like that) and you should see a file name pop up in your text where your cursor was.  You can check it on the preview post button ( I think on the bottom Rhs)

When I installed the Mal Wood slave in my 179 Aussie M15, I reckon I used 4 shims to get to the low side of required clearance. After bedding in, the thrust bearing was noisy at rest, and inspection revealed that the clearance had decreased to allow it to ride on the fingers. I was able to remove one shim without splitting the engine/trans assembly, by carefully cutting it with offset aviation snips and wrenching it out with multi grips. The rest of the shims were undamaged in the process, and it has been spot on ever since. It did seem that the clearence decrease with bedding in. I hope that helps.
