I’ve been doing a shitload of work on my project EK van lately, mainly involving butt welding panels, and I’ve been using compressed air to cool the weld and keep the panels from warping. While working today I heard the compressor come on, but sounded somehow louder than normal, and only stayed on for two seconds. Normally it would stay on for a while bringing the tank up to pressure. Now it won’t start or respond at all when powered on. Could the motor be fused? I can’t see a breaker or reset switch anywhere on it.
Compressor Died……

Pressure switch might have failed.

If the motor had died it'd probably have taken out the protection on the circuit.
It could be the pressure switch or it could also be the capacitor and/or the centrifugal switch on the motor has failed (assuming its single phase?). Have a look online how to test it.
I assume the pump turns freely, as in the motor isn't trying to start it but its seized? You'd here that though.

You assume correctly Byron. Well at least I can’t hear it trying to turn. I’m almost looking for an excuse to go get one of these. 14 CFM FAD.

I had a proper look and found the reset button. Fired up snd sounds normal. Didn’t want to run it too long as it is 2:30am. Might be able to sleep now, but I was pretty excited about the 14cfmfad for a while there. Still am really.
