Moff passed today. Sure he drove for the dark side but he also drove GMH product with HDT and Ron Hodgson, and also Mazda. Legend of Australian Motorsport.
RIP Allan Moffat

Yes, never really liked him being a Holden fan. Thought he was smug and that 1 - 2 finish with Bondy never sat well with me. Then, of course there was the F@4D thing...................
But................
I really gained respect for him when he spoke at Peter Brock's memorial at Sandown.
It put things more into perspective. ![]()

He was to Ford fans what Brocky is to the Holden camp.
He was a legend of Australian motorsport and regardless of what brand he drove for he should be remembered for what he is.
Definitely a sad day & my condolences to his family.

Very sad day. Even though he drove mostly for the opposition, I always admired his tenacity, he was a very good driver.
AFAIK he was the first professional motorsport driver in Australia. In other words all he did was drive racecar & get paid for it, he had no other full time job when we first saw him in 1969.

His days in the HO's were legendary.
Still remember the day at Amaroo, when he rolled out in a Ron Hodgson A9X...people were gasping.
