I am tempted to replace the whole wiring with the car apart.

Yes definitely recommend Aaron.
I put a complete loom in a mates LJ GTR.
Was very impressed with the quality.
Great to deal with.
We wanted mods for electronic dizzy, electric windscreen washer using LH/LX switch, internal reg alternator. All no problem.
