Hi all,

Have just installed an aftermarket tachometer to my LH with 186 and electronic distributor.

all went well although when ignition initially turned on the needle jumps aggressively for around 10 seconds.
Do i need to put anything in the line to remedy this ?

thank you

Derek

Sounds like it doesn't know what's happening. Is it an Ol' Skool tacho?

Try this, turn the crank a bit by hand prior to turning the ignition and tell us what happens?

Thanks guys ,

Is a new tacho , and yes does the sweep , although when comes back to zero jumps aggressively until you bring up revs and it settles was wondering if I need a resistor or something in the line
