Last year, we did an engine swap in the EH. The removed engine has been sitting on an engine stand - getting in the way and taking up too much space in the mancave.

So good old Dad popped over recently with an old steel frame that was once a student school desk and a handful of old castor wheels. "Is the arc welder still here?" Yep!

The length of the frame was mm perfect for the Holden six length. We cut and shut it to get the width right. It has a neat looking cross brace which I really like.

I found some old steel plate, so 2 of those were added on at each end and drilled for wheels (a keen eye will also note the highly exotic timber wheel that was also hacked together). No money being spent here.

More scrap steel used to make a couple of mounting points. A quick clean up with the grinder and a lick of ocean blue from an old spray can that was lying around.

I think it came up really well! It's easy to push around and is about as compact as you get. Gotta love Dad's and their recycling!

That's a great idea. The moment you drop an engine onto a tyre on the ground it is there forever and always in your way.

I put all my SBC and BBC shorts or longs on these. But harder to transfer straight to a stand than yours.

Here's mine from back in Covid times (19-20).
Just to make some noise in the shed when there was not much else you could do.
Made from old racking bits and peices, Bunnings wheels.
Just ran a fuel line to the car and turned the pump on.

It got a radiator added in V2.1
