Knoath: Mate... Your on a dead set winner. If you could get some prices, prices for different quantities etc, we would be grateful! They look Unbelivable! Honestly.. I'd buy 5 for myself, and i'm sure that simone would have 5 too. Black is the ONLY way to go and as long as the shirts are of decent quality then we have a winner!
One issue ive gotto raise... please ask about large sized shirts... Being a big bloke i need some pretty hefty shirts. Like 74cm half chest size ( belive it or not.. i measured one of my comfy polo shirts this morning!). If you could find something like that, then i'm DEFINITE we could strike a deal!

Deb: Thanks for your input! What youve put forward is exactly the reason why we have not gone forward with the idea, and to be quite frank, i doubt we will. No one has the time to devote to yet another club, and i want to see this place as somewhere that we can all come to get away from it all!

At this point in time, I'm leaning heavily toward cruising along as we currently are, with a bank account so that we can accept donations for things like the stickers and ^ those bloody great shirts and do things like that.

Cheers!

Deb: hehehe.. i think i;d have to sew 5 of your shirts together to get around me! i dont think smaller shits would be a problem for the guys to source...

OH.. and i will put my money wehre my mouth is... If these do get off the ground i will pay for them directly. I'll be PMing knoath about them directly to organise them.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the comments are great! It Does sound like a shit load of work though! Maybe ill just join Eastside or something haha or even the Vic Torana Club

But i think we need to get the name of this place out there! When people think of toranas they should think of GMH-Torana.com every person who has a passion for toranas should be a member of this site, every write up in a street machine on a torana shoul;d metion this website.

Anyway maybe start off with T-Shirts and Stickers and it will move on from there over time!

But i believe this is the Best Forum on the Internet

dissappear for a few days and look what you lot get up to!
I have always thought about having a forum club, but agree that it would be alot of work.
I reckon the best thing to do would be affiliate the forum with all the other clubs.
and yes, this is the best forum in the world.

ps: shirt me up Knoath

I'd jump on the band wagon for a few shirts if they come up and as with others would be more then willing to donate / annual fee, the info i've soaked up off this place has been invaluable.

My first thoughts are - why recreate what we already have? Most if not all States already have an established Torana Club (or two, as in SA), and a lot of the members of these clubs are also members on this forum. Trying to set up an extra Torana Club where one or more already exists would not be in the best interests of anyone (Datto, you can join our Club any time, and you don't even have to make it over for meetings :D ) Setting up a successful and legal Club takes a lot of time, patience, knowledge and ongoing input, and if a new club is going to compete with other existing clubs for members, then where's the benefit?

As Prez of "HTC", the Holden Torana Club of SA inc, (a position I've held for Waaaay tooo long!), I view this forum as a very effective 'umbrella' over all of the State Torana Clubs - a link between each Club, and the members in them.

HTC advertises this forum in every newsletter, and we have also organised a "GMH - Torana All States Torana Cruise and BBQ" for the past two years, with excellent turnouts, and all profits going to this forum. All Torana enthusiasts are invited and welcome, not just Club members.

Stickers would be an advantage, but I can't see why each State Torana Club can't actively participate in this forum, advertise it and raise funds for it on at least one run every year, and leave it to be exactly what it's best at - a forum between Torana enthusiasts and Torana Clubs.

HTC would welcome any SA forum members to enquire with us to see if you'd like to join up, but there's no pressure to do so.

gmh-torana.com, in my view is already a "club" more or less. It wouldn't be necessary to create a formal registered entity with a Committee, Treasurer, President etc, etc, just to acheive what we already have. There are already one of these clubs in each state.

We already have the ability to organise events and cruises right here in the forums. for example:
http://www.gmh-toran...topic=1246&st=0
http://www.gmh-toran...hp?showtopic=88

As for club rego, we can utilise existing state torana clubs, whos members form part of gmh-torana.com

I have 4 other mates that own toranas that refuse to join the VTC because they don't want the politics that comes with it. gmh-torana is a very relaxed group and membership is not limited and free. There are no meetings and members don't have to worry about exposing their personal details or worry about club members dobbing them in for doing a skid.

We have a very large versatile community with a broad range of different people with different views and interests as well as some that are from outside of Australia, I wouldn't chance ruining that by creating a formal club out of it.

The T-Shirt however is a bloody ripper! I'll buy one of them when they're available.

Again, all this is just my opinion.

Thanks for your input dangerous and Amore,

What youve both said is exacly my personal feelings. I think weve got a great community as we are at the moment.

The issues that currently face us is if we hold dedicated GMH-TORANA events, then insurance is a major concern. Also fund raising to help keep this site going and do other things (shirts, calendars, stickers etc) to help promote the site that we all enjoy!

Dangerous: Can i ask how the club goes about insurance for events? I know this seems to be a recurring theme in my posts, but its something i'm concerned about. I dont want to set us up for a problem if we hold a cruise, or drag day or advanced training day and something happens. (especially a cruise wehre were heavily involved with the public!)

Thanks again for your input it makes alot of sense!

Dangerous i think its perfect what your club is doing! Fantastic to see u promoting this site! I wonder if the other state torana clubs do a similar thing? I think that maybe tying this website in more closely with the torana clubs would make a massive difference!

But overall i think that publicity for the site is wat will get everyone knowing about it, the use of Stickers and T-Shirts etc,

Anyway so far this topic has been very productive! Nice work guys
