^^^ Why does it look all squashed in at the front. Was that before the 'new hand brake' was installed?

How is this going to be decided?
Best average over the day?
Best average over "X" amount of runs?
Head to head over "X" amount of runs?

I reckon head to head over 3 runs, just for the hype.

I like to wedge it in there, just to make sure it wont slide "If" something lets go, I am just paranoid! I check my wheel nuts are tight everytime i go for a drive now after i had a wheel fall off last year! I had my Handbrake "pop off" once when i was washing it at a mates house, and it wasnt properly in gear as well... So now i dont think you can take enough precautions!!!

Rodomo, I reckon towards the end of hte day (Once we have both mastered our take offs etc) We do a Best of 3 Head to Head! Ideally we want to be pulling our best times out in each of the 3 runs!!

Mate, it your and what's his face's call. I reckon it should be decided before the day though, that's all.

How long are your wheel studs now? :tease:

Congratulations Makka! I can see why you wanted to do one race, and one race only now!

Here are my version of events...

It was getting late in the day, and Makka had kept putting off the race... He put it off enough that we had to agree to do a best of one race! This was his only chance! My best for the day until then was a 14.7, His was a 16.1. So he knew his work was cut out, But he also knew that my car had been getting vapour lock issues, So he could get lucky and my car fail when it came time to race!!

Anyway, We organised for the race to go ahead, and we made our way to the staging area... We pull up and the Heathcote crew are prepping the track a bit for us (I knew i was now gonna be in trouble as my car was heating up while it was sitting there waiting! LOL)

Anyway, We pull up to the line, Makka rips a good burnout and my car just spins its wheels and i get bugger all smoke :(

We staged up at the christmas tree and wait for the lights to change! As you can see i got the better RT, and smoked him off the line! Car was pulling away nicely! I snap 2nd and the wheels chirp nicely. At 660ft you can see i have already got a 0.7 second lead on him already!

As i am getting up to about 3-4grand in 2nd gear, All of a sudden the dreaded Vapour lock kicks in, Its like i have put my brakes on! I frantically keep pumping the accelerator hoping for the car to roar back into life! But it was to no avail... for the last 100 metres i was basically only being propelled by momentum...

About 20metres from the finish i look to my left and see makka hum past me with his fists pumping! LOL, Then as we cross the line he has his arm out the window pumping the air! LOL

Comparing the time slip with my P.B for the day of 14.7, i was on pace to get another 14 second pass until probablu just before the 600ft mark...

My 60ft, 330ft and 660ft times were on par with my best pass. But my MPH at the 660mark was 16mph under... So i obviously started to loose power about then... Absolutely spewing! I could have recorded a P.B!! LOL
.

O Well, Bring on Next year i say! Lets hope for a cooler day though....

Yeah I wish they were in winter. I have no problem with a lack of traction :stirpot:

Interesting to hear the actual story coz all I saw from the sideline was a race that I was adament you were going to win.

Sounds like you were either ill prepared for the race MRLXSS or just not happy you lost.
I would be happy with a 14 sec 253 in any event.
Maybe next year eh?
