Yeah cheers mate thanks for the offer.
The ones on mine are actually about 9/10, and polished not anodized. i would just prefer anodized ones, hence im hanging out for the rares ones, party to review them as i did the Phills ones i suppose.
Cheers.

Your not pushing hard enough, like i said i had Phill himself call me to discuss the issue haha.
Tell them that your a member of a popular forum directly related to this product with over 10,000 posts and you are highly regarded in the community, your opinion on the product will dictate everyone on the 7000 or so memberbase of the community.
THats basically what i did haha.
Cheers.

Yeah. They were only questions asking for dimensions and stuff for the mirror. But it pisses me off that he can act like theres no one home, but still send me the product in a timely matter, and not respond to my follow ups. I took a gamble and won but still pretty shit.

frOcktard mate.
I've seen Rare spares make an honest to god effort to rectify issues with there products over the last two years or so.
In such an honest to god effort to fix there reputation, which was sliding.
Nothing but respect for that.
Cheers.

We have received new off tool samples of the LJ head lamp rims, we will be testing them this week. The black paint finish still needs some improvement as latest samples have a higher sheen than genuine. See picture below of latest off tool samples. We will keep you posted....

So they would need to be completely stripped in order to polish them?
Posted 23 April 2014 - 11:10 PM
Oven cleaner is your friend, but yeah, Edan, whats the chances of supplying raw, off the machine, as well as the black/anodized product?
Posted 23 April 2014 - 11:28 PM
So they would need to be completely stripped in order to polish them?
Why would you want to polish them? Just clean the paint off with some thinners if you don't want them black and leave the protective anodized coating alone.

Wouldn't put them on the car if they weren't polished. I personally dont like anodizing and would rather have them polished. As would a few customers so it might be an idea to supple them raw. It wouldn't be any harder thats for sure.

No but you can bet your last dollar without the anodic coating the aluminium will be a damn site softer / easier to bend, scratch & damage... Probably find they're machine pressed after being anodised as again raw aluminium in this thickness is fairly flimsy and also oxidises quickly to boot, you only have to handle the stuff incorrectly and thumb prints become scratches... It may work to strip the ano off them, polish & re anodise or clear coat, But I wouldn't be trying this on a new set as requires caustic to remove the anodising which usually turns the allum greyish... Maybe Eden can do some enquires for us As I for 1 would like to purchase in raw, unpainted & covered in peelcoat......

My entire grill is raw polished alloy. I wash it with water and rarely dry it and i've had not one problem.

The LJ Headlight Surrounds will be supplied in anodised aluminium, flat black painted as per genuine reference samples used.
These headlight surrounds have already been anodised and are now awaiting painting process.
The factory produces in quantity lots and are not able to produce in a raw state due to potential scratches and damage.
LJ Rear Lamps will possibly be available later this year. LC type are still under tooling development.
LC Grille is currently not viable due to tooling issues.
