That's because its 64Y Laurie. 64X would be that Elascofab insert which 64Y should still have on the door trims. 64Y is the Raydo cloth insert from memory, but it's wrong on the car anyway.

Hi........could I please get some information on the trim of my 1972 LJ Torana GTR. Presently the interior is all black and seats have houndstooth inserts (black & white). Id plate trim no: is 1838 48Y, body no is 17096B. Going by these plate numbers would the present trim be like the original.  Duco colour was changed, by previous owner, from March 17th to White over 25 yrs ago.  Vin no. is:  8D11LCH261333J.....many thanks  Jeff

1838 is indeed March 17th (same colour as the prototype HQ Sandman panel van). 48Y is the light colour vinyl trim (Flax I think it was called) with B&W houndstooth fabric inserts.

If you had enough influence, you might have been able to get something other than black. But were any L34's actually ordered? I'd imagine just about all of them were stock order apart from maybe a few purposely ordered as a colour variation for various race team colours?

It would be correct as the kick panels are the same colour. The parts catalog states Jade Green carpet in all models with 45V.

 

If you had enough influence, you might have been able to get something other than black. But were any L34's actually ordered? I'd imagine just about all of them were stock order apart from maybe a few purposely ordered as a colour variation for various race team colours?

There was a Monterey car with 66V which I reckon would have looked quite smart.  There are also two cars with 66X. One was ordered through HDT so probably for Harry or as a promo car.

LH SL/R 5000 with 63V.  The main difference between this one and the LX SL on page three is the Golfball inserts.

This one is 60A in an SL hatch.  If it was an SS or SL/R, the inserts in the seats and door trims would be Chamois Golfball, and the door trims would have black carpet at the bottom.

Apart from the painted plastic front seat backs, this interior is unrestored.

And in a case of good timing, we have 60A in 8VD77.  The only real difference I can see between this and the 60A in the pictures above is the black map pockets and Golfball inserts.

As far as I know 67Y should be tan for most stuff. Will have a good look at the documents I have.
