And oh god can we please not taint the dated awesomeness of excessive actual chrome on old Holdens with vinyl wrapped mommy mobiles?

Hi Aaron,
You've already done all the hard panel work so now you can enjoy the reassembly, completely agree the fitting of new/rebuilt parts is the much more enjoyable part of the build process.
Am enjoying your build and really like your unflared plans.
Have fun, Tom

Looks great. I used the same stuff under my guards as well. Laid it on pretty thick under the top section to prevent large stones flicked up by the tires from making a reverse dent in the top section of the front guards.

Looks fantastic! Very satisfying product to use.

A very legitimate concern. Toranas with good tyre compounds being driven hard puts that area in great jeapordy. Upwards dints with crows-feet type cracks in the paint along that surface. :(

Just looking at your overhead fuel tank, I had a 1000 gallon and a 500 gallon in my clearing sale. They had to be at least 60 years old. They made $5,000 and $3,500 thousand. They must be bloody expensive new.

That's some good money for your tanks Laurie, they don't make things like they use to.

Unfortunately they won't stay like that long without the anodising (well, without constant polishing anyway, then you will eventually wear through the metal).
If you only used cutting/buffing compound then you should be able to get some clear coat to stick to them with a good de-greasing, but if you used any kind of polish you'll be pushing shit uphill.

Everybody knows that with polished alloy parts, never heard of anyone polishing through their trim..... total over exaggeration ![]()
Final polishing & sealer yet to be done

Forgive my ignorance here, but at which point in the model cycle did the window trim on Toranas go from stainless to alloy?
