Hopper used to supply two versions of the 290 mm AU twin piston kit.

One version used a hub with a 8 mm offset to suit the offset used on Commodore stud pattern rims. There was also a standard offset hub that was supplied with Torana stud pattern.

This is a picture of the Hoppers 290 mm AU twin piston set with Commodore offset. You can just see the larger silver spacer between the caliper and the caliper adaptor.

The extra 8 mm offset gives better clearance between the caliper and the control arm on full lock but could be enough to cause tyre clearance problems if you were not replacing the rims.

So Hopper's no longer sell the kit with the Torana offset?

No idea. You will have to ask them.

Got the Hoppers Stoppers 290mm kit to replace factory discs. It wouldnt pass roadworthy as supplied engineer paperwork refers to Holden HQ to WB and not Torana. Hoppers suggested I go to a VASS engineer ( at $800) to get their ok. VASS engineer wants to engineer the whole car. Brakes the only change. Probably no easy answer other than put original discs back on. Beware if you buy the hoppers kit and need to get a RWC.

Interesting, engineer I am using speaks extremely highly of them.

I’m not surprised. In my dealings so far with Certifier for the Rodtech front end in my HK. It has Ford rotors and VS calipers. Running HT booster, VT master and HQ rear drums. It needs full brake tests. Engineer wouldn’t even entertain Willwood calipers.

Is the rest of your car stock? If so just put the factory brakes back on, get it passed and then change what you like.

The hoppers engineering statement only relates to the standard of the components when fitted correctly, not the performance of the system. If the rest of your car is modified substantially you would need engineering anyway.

Yep. Thats the way to go. No other mods. Need to find some Torana PBR front disc calipers now.
