The plan is to use the fuel filler inner panel and the rear of the boot floor off the rear cut. we couldn't use all of it due to damage.

Both quarters are getting replaced with spares we have.

we have ordered the tail light panel, both tail light buckets and beaver from the patchmaker so they should arrive in the next week or two.

Well over the last two days we have manages to get the first piece mostly welded back in.

The plan front here is to patch up another holes in the boot floor and get it painted in KBS for the most part before continuing.

It should be a lot easier to access like this than with more bits in the way.

Another patch done, I made up the replacement section using a couple of steel rods from bunnings as dolly's, came out alright all things considered.

Most of the boot floor is now done. Soon we will paint it in KBS rust proof paint.

On another note we are really holding out for these panels from the patchmaker to arrive. Finding communication hard with them. paid 3 and a half weeks ago and still has arrived or provided a tracking number. Does anyone know how long he usually takes to ship items?

A lot more progress has been made, both inner wheel tubs have been repaired.

The passengers side quarter has been removed and the new one trimmed to fit. it will be ready to tack on soon.

If we weren't giving it a go, this car probably would have been cut up.

Good on you. At the end of the day it is just steel sheet, and you make everything fit, but sometimes it takes a couple of gos.

Yep definitely give it a go !
I hated paint & panel work but i made from scratch inner & outer sills for a bunky drag only 4 door LJ & many parts of the nose cone as practice for me to fix my nanna LJ.
I got my motivation from many on this forum especially Marty’s projects 👍
As Clay said its just sheet metal but the passion is to make it in the form that looks like a Torana 😁 as it rolled off the line or make it as you want!
Either way you guys are having an awesome go & im following all your post! Keep up the good work guys!

Dads neighbours are starting to be an issue sadly and complaining through the body corp which is a pain and slowing things down a bit.

Yeah that’s why I couldn’t live in suburbia. Nearest Neigbour is 100m away but still too close & no problem.
Would love to have a few hundred acres but too old to change now.
There are 5 acre subdivisions going in across the road so that going to bring more people 🙄

I have a question though.


All 3 bootlids we have, have a different degree of curvature to them.

This is creating the larger gap in the centre. Is this normal?

You guys are animals, great progression, neighbours and all. Great to watch. Just had a quick look at my boot, and it's the same. That's not to say it's normal, but it sure is looking that way. Maybe pick the best one of the three that you can live with? And is a bobtail going on it? My Wilsons bobtail hides the boot line, unless you stick your head under there.
