Bought a "parts car" today, factory V8, near perfect black interior, I'm going to fix up some loose stiching on the back seat and have the inserts replaced with grey golfball, that'll finish what interior bits I needed for the race replica,also got with the parts car a LH V8 big booster, fan shroud, original alternator bracket, I'll also take the wiring harness as its factory V8, it has a LSD banjo V8 diff-that'll go into the SS, mint black hoodlining, SLR wheel trims lots of good parts to use and sell off, even has a mint dash, original radio, very good centre console, sunvisors arent even warped, also has the factory 2-core radiator-not many cars have them anymore

MRNOS thats a bloody nice "parts" car... :cry:

I would love to have something like that as a project... a original factory v8... instead ive started with a 6 and converting it. a few years back when i was still at high school i looked at a factory SL V8 and was mainly looking at it for the motor and box but it wouldnt go so we decided not to buy it. probably the biggest mistake of my life!!! it was dirt cheap and would of made things a lot easier...

Anyways nice pick-up and good luck with the rest of the build.

Some more parts car pics, the seats are dirty but in really good condition, inserts are good too, almost a shame to have the inserts redone...almost, turns out the 253 in it is also a HR 253-high compression slr/ss motor

arrimar - the car that i looked at was 500 bux... original everything and even had 13 inch hotwires, but i guess i do have a whole life ahead of me so plenty of time as you say!

The SOB was born under a lucky star...Dont get me started...He will tell you in his own good time...
I dropped off the diff to get done today...paid NOS for the Red and Black paint...dropped him off the f/r fibreglass bumpers on their brackets......we are moving forward..

OK..Appears it is bugger all drama to knock the ends off the tubes and take 10mm off then weld them back..there by making it exactly the correct width. Only consideration is that there is 10mm of spline to slide into the full spool...otherwise we would need to add 10mm of spline to them. If that is the case I will just leave them. Will keep you posted. It was $165 Rex.not $195.

Ok I take it back, I am lucky, today was a "lucky" day, bought a LH SLR5000, not cut for flares, in primer should be barbados green, very good price, paint it, trim it sell it :spoton:
