I had music going in the background and I didn't notice the sound didn't work, I just assumed it would.
Its heaps better with sound, not only do the cars sound good, but there's a bit of a reaction from Karl when his car finally stops spinning.
What program would you recomend to edit a dvd to post on youtube ? I used Nero.

I was encouraged by the times, and I will probably try to get my cams licence this year and maybe do an Improved Production race before the year is over, or at least be ready for the start of next year.
I still need to spend some money on the suspension, its still got the rear springs from Craigs old VB, front sway bar from Puds VH wagon and Super Cheap rear shocks, all cobbled together when I put the car together on a shoestring a few years ago. So hopefully I can get a bit more speed from a decent set of matching springs and shocks and if I can stop the driver from driving through turn 1 like an old Granny maybe i can achieve the 1.54 that I want.

Now all the Sprints I've been to at Phillip Island and Sandown, you start from pitlane, do a warmup lap and then do 3 or 4 flying laps which are timed. Your fastest lap is what the results are based on.
Today we did a standing start from the start line, but only 2 cars at a time. I kept lining up next to my mate Mark in his VN Saloon car. I had my trusty old video camera in the car, now if you've watched any in-car video, its always much more interesting if you're following someone , so I deliberatly let him beat me to the first corner so I could get some good video, then I trundled around warming the car up, and then let it rip for the flying laps.
After the first 2 sessions, I went to check out the results, and I learnt that they were using your standing lap and your best flying lap to determine the results. So what I thought was a warmup lap was actually a timed lap.
So for the 3rd session, I still let Mark beat me to the first corner so I could get some good video, but then I let it rip, he had a moment at one stage so I passed him, my standing lap was a good one, and my first flying lap was a 1.45, then on the next lap the fire went out and it was all over Red Rover !
The rotor is not turning, so hopefully I've stripped a dissy gear, but I suspect it may be the timing chain.
I'll have a look tomorrow and work out whats wrong.
A broken cam chain stopped 'The Man' at Bathurst in 85 so I'm in good company.

They had a round of the Vic Hillclimb C'Ship at the new Morwell track a few weeks back, I didn't realise it was also part of our club championship, so I didn't enter. How's your standing in the championship Mick?
After that meet, I was a poofteenth behind the leader of my class, but I didn't see him at Winton today, so I should be back in front.
We have a another Hillclimb in 2 weeks, pity my car doesn't go......

Next outing is a sprint meeting in 2 weeks held at the RAAF base at Sale (Vic) which I haven't been to before.
Starting to think seriously about whether an LS1 might be a good alternative to building another 308. Would still meet improved production rules as long as its under 6 litres and the lighter engine would have to help the handling.
I drove my mates ex Saloon car (VN V6) at a hillclimb a few weeks ago, on my first lap I equalled my best time in my car at the previous meeting. it just steers so much better than mine, in the tight corners my VH understeers badly where the VN just goes around the corner.

It was at the RAAF base at Sale (Vic).
I've never been on such a smooth track. It was amazing.
In my last two outings, I've come second at a Hillclimb and first at a Sprint.
Must be time to get a proper CAMS licence and try my luck in the Vic State Series.
The Roulettes live at Sale. Late in the afternoon they returned from somewhere (Indy maybe?) and proceeded to put on a show before they landed. An unexpected bonus!!!
