Tried to sort this out this morning but no luck - need a bigger slide hammer!

You'll need to whack from inside the boot to get that out.
Like we did on yours.

Unless I drill holes everywhere I have no access to it from the inside. It's all double skinned. This being an LH means it has less clearance around there as well which is a pain.

Do you mean with a sledgie or something? I don't recall doing anything like that on mine, we did everything from the outside and underneath IIRC. I remember we used the weight of the car rolling down the hill and that worked really well. Might need to chain it around the tree in the front yard and get Luke to drive away from it until the chain pulls tight LOL

Have a look where that panel you chopped out of your race car meets the floor pan.
It's triple panel there from memory.
Whack it there and it will push the bent outer beaver as well.
If I recall, you were perving on Miss Mini while I done this.
Might explain why you missed it?

Crowded property? Not really!

hahaha and none of them are mine!

Luke took the car back earlier this arvo, he will come back later and we will do more

Finished the metalwork on that guard

Gave it a skim of filler and it looks alright, still needs a bit more bodywork but it will come up nicely without too much effort.

lol

Just finished welding that repair and didn't get a chance to fill it flat - waited to show Luke what I was dealing with with the bog above. Ahh well just sprayed some primer on the areas and it will be dealt with later on. Shame that so much bog will go into that one :(

Latest is back end has now been pulled out by panel shop, so is atleast straight again but a few ripples still there Lol a fair bit of bog work to be done but should come up ok. Wheel arch is now also filled to be flush again with rest of guard and in primer. Going to be fixing door soon and hopefully my fibre glass front will find its way from Adelaide to Melbourne soon so that can go on, THEN we can srpay some paint on!!

Trial fitting the 245/60/15's for the drag day :)
Posted Image
Posted Image

Ended up running a best of 14.33 at 99.6mph, 2.3 60ft, 6.1 330ft, 9.28@76.5mph 660ft, 11.9 1000ft, 30.5'C 21% humidity
Need to work alot on launch and better gear changes!!!! DAMN 3 gear Lol. Guess i was initially a little dissapoited at the time after getting a 12.9 first time out in the old car, but this setup really is a completely different car and not really setup for drag as the other one was.
Prob should have left her in 3rd over the line and not wasted time chaging to 4th and played a bit more with the tyre presses too, oh well lots of fun and not a bad start to first time drag racing in a manual, not as easy as the high stall trimatic i had before that was a piece of piss compared to this!!!!
Got 6 passes in for the day, and very happy that the muncie didn't explode as thats the weakest link atm.

Ok so seeing i'm now getting used to the power and wanting more, i think a decent cold air setup will go along way, and some decent front suspension would be nice :P

I still love this car, YOU BETTER NOT MAKE THIS NICE. I was almost considering a trade, mine with yours just swap the drivelines just so it stays ratty :spoton:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKK, update time, now she has new superpro bushes in all the front end except the upper control arms which remain rubber for comfort. King springs and Koni shocks now in the front end too along with new rack. She is sitting abit high in the front now but will see how she settles. Its good to have some ground clearance now but just dosn't look as cool :( Will get picks soon.
Will see how this goes and prob chuck a front sway bar on to finish off the front end.

4 years of 520ci flat six Cessna bush flying around The Kimberley later, and I still have her!
Numerous times of financial hardship and coming close to selling, but a few hours on the old bench seat a year has kept the passion alive :)

No updates at this stage, just keeping her alive and enjoying what I have, when ever I'm back in the big smoke.

Na mate GMH-Torana exclusive ! :P

Was a 'little' clunky in the rear, more than usual. New top arm bushes and back to the standard racket of the Detroit.

Anyone else chewed these out in a big way with a 9' and Detroit locker? They were poly too, but as I mentioned car hasn't being seeing much action recently....

Still alive! :P

Been working up north for last 6 years!
Get back to drive the old girl about once a year :( but always puts a smile on my face!

Getting a lot more ratty but that's all part of the look.

Hopefully be living back in Melbourne in the next year or so. Look forward to getting to some of the meets and seeing how projects have progressed.
