engine should be on the dyno in under 2 weeks.just waiting on a carby to arrive from the states (want to sort the engine out before the hilborn goes on)

it will be running on E85 with 13:1 comp :)

i have picked up all the new glass that i had made, and it looks great too.

and the car is all painted and assembled besides from the bonnet (need to cut a hole)

but i dont think it'll be at the nats this year,i've been working 14 hours a day trying to get all my customer cars finished

and dont worry harvey,i'm sure i'll get the chance to scare you soon :spoton: haha

i had all the glass done.most replacement torana windscreens have a green tint and a 100mm tint band, but mine is made clear (no green tint) and a 75mm tint band. the car looks very clean with new glass.the difference is huge.

no pics untill its done,i want to get it all together before anyone sees it :)

well,i've had a little bit of a set back.... seems that no one makes billets in the same offset as my convos (3 3/8") so its either get a longer diff and use weld wheels for the track or order some simmons in the same offset as the convos.

My Vote: Some 17-8" simmons would look HORN! BUT if you want to go for a different look maybe look into ROH or something and see what they might as well...

roh are getting back to me to see if they can make an offset that big. neither simmons or roh really have a wheel that'll suit it with the polished trumphets through the bonnet.

Ahh shit, thats a good point... She all needs to work together...

Order some Boyd Coddington or Foose wheels? (Sorry very expensive, evil ideas)

I guess you could sell the Diff, and wheels as a complete package to somebody? Some people would almost base their build around it!

i spoke to the guys at showwheels and they wont make them that big, so i dunno if boyd/foose could do it either.
the only other thing is to see if they can make the hub of the wheel fatter to use up some of the backspace.i have 3" long wheel studs, but i dont really like that idea....

thanks for the tip,i gave him a ring but he couldnt fing anything less than 3 3/4" wich is still 1/2" to big.

roh can do them with a 5" dish but in my backspacing,so i'm guessing they make the hubs thicker.

simmons can give nme the 6 3/4" dish that i'm after but i'd like billets.....bummer

I had the same problem with my last diff, had an inch taken off each side to get in the bigger wheels (also 3 3/8ths back space). To put the Simmons back on I had 1inch spacers made up which bolt to the axel, look real trick and legal. I can now choose between the Convos for drag or Simmons for road.

moot try actually talking to the manufacturers. I was told that i couldnt get the billets that i want in anything bigger than a 10" rim. I emailed the manufacturer and they said yes they could, downside is that i need to buy 2 wheels and they will make 1 out of 2. I am still lookig into other options though
