Moot that engine bay is awesome, and didn't realise till I looked but it's going to be very similar to ours, the 2 firewall seams removed and chassis seams trimed, flat plates in both the sections where the battery and charcol canister were, brake line holes in the guard smoothed, heater box section smoothed, mate theres a lot of work in that engine bay, looks fantastic. Can't believe you thought of selling it, keep on it moot it's gunna be an unreal car when done.

Just a coincidence that one. Went for a cruise down to Moot's workshop to catch up with him and meet the touring Garth (fatslr).
Perhaps later in the year the interior changes will become reality.

Cheers, H

Hey Moot, what is the go with your rear end... does it still use the factory arms in the factory locations ?

Any chance of some pics of the underside ?

Who did you get to do that work ?

Thanks.

yeah the factory arms in the factory spots besides from the lower control arms on the diff. i had them moved in 10mm. to get it engineered in nsw i wasnt allowed to touch the chassis rail until after the centre line of the diff.(besides the spring mount)

if i didnt have to stick with what the engineer wanted,i would have done it differently. i would have liked to have unpicked the original rail and move the whole lot in and then run it straight back instead of the weird shape i had to keep. but at the end of the day it has to be engineered and legal...

Thanks for sharing.

I see what you mean about the compromise around the rear dog leg.

Is your mates the same (purple 4 door, qik 383) ?

You have given me some ideas though, thanks again.

Here's another question..... are they 275/60R15 MT's ? on a 15x8 1/2" rim ?

Thanks.

the pictures in primer are 275/50/15 et streets.
pictures in blue are just shitty 275/50/15's BFG's (theres a big size difference between the two of them)
rims are 15x10's with 3 3/8" backspace

ets measured 310mm wall to wall (on my rims) and 26.2" tall. BFG's measured 295mm wall to wall and 25.7"tall.

new tyres are 315/30/19 :)

28" tyres wont fit unless you reshape the rear dogleg(behing the rear door). and its hard to get a nice ride height

Yeah, makes sense now looking at it. That is a serious dish on the Convo Pro.

I have fitted 28" tyres before and your right, they do sit the car up a bit.

Thanks again for sharing your info.

well there isnt really updates.its been sittting in the same place untouched for probably 6 months.

it does have a one peice roof lining in it now. but thats about it.i'm sort of upto a fork in the road with it.the engine has over 13:1 comp and i cant buy e85 anymore.so i'll either have to decompress it or run it on methanol.no one makes 275/50/15's anymore either unless its et streets (which arent gonna last long) and to change to any other rim is going to mean a new diff and axles as mine will be way to short for the backspacings of all the billet wheels.

so with the amount of work i have on to,its pretty much a dust collector. :Headbang2:

on the plus side my vn ss now has a 355 new paint and trim and should be at the summernats

you could swap the cam and run the thing on gas...

Whats the go with no E85? I figured it would be more available now then in the past, or has something changed recently?

How about running one of those special thick head gaskets to reduce the compression ratio?

mastercraft make 265's and 295's. 295's are easy to get but i'd have to cut more of the rail out. 265's would look like shit on a 10" rim i reckon.

if i change the head gaskets to change the comp,it'd need to be really thick.and that would screw up the quench and kill the power.its either gonna have to have a piston change (and cam) or its going to tur into a drag car.but i dont want that
